Meet Stacy

Stacy Sharp, Sr. Customer Support Representative, loves to be involved at Labcyte on every level. A Bay Area native, who studied sociology at Fort Hays State University – she joined the team in January 2016.

What is your role at Labcyte?

I input all consumables, service contracts, and oversee details like shipping and manufacturing lead times. Customer Service is the main liaison between different departments. We work to ensure that customers meet their deadlines and can ask for assistance in one central location.

What did you do before joining Labcyte?

I worked for another medical device company in Palo Alto, where I specialized in International distribution, logistics, and data input.

What’s the best part of your job?

I like that I get to work with a lot of different people, and that I deal with customers directly. I also like being in the know. I’m on a lot of group projects, where everyone gives their input on how the end product might impact them, and how to make it work best for everyone. I like knowing what’s going on in the company, and I think that level of involvement benefits everyone.

I also love my boss, Tammy (Cameron, Sr. Vice President of Finance). She’s probably the best boss I have ever had. She makes sure that I’m included in process change meetings. I’m encouraged to come up with my own ideas, and I’m given the freedom to run with them. She also supports continuing education and anything that might help me in my career.

How do you see your career developing at Labcyte?

Career growth is not just about salary. It’s about your personal career development and being able to grow with and within the company. I’ve been given the freedom to voice my opinion and come up with solutions. I definitely feel like there’s been a lot of personal career growth since I’ve been at Labcyte, and I look forward to that continuing.

What do you do for fun?

I have an active 11-year-old, so you can often find me on a sports field. We’re a huge sports family, so when we’re not travelling for his games, we’re usually attending a sports event.

If you could cure any disease, what would it be and why?

I’d have to say blindness, as my husband is blind, or diabetes, as it’s prevalent within my family.

Who is your favorite influencer?

My boss, Tammy. She’s been a huge influence in building my career and making me aware that a woman can rise up through the workplace with grace, hard work, and class. As for public figures, I’d say Deepak Chopra, for his guidance in mindfulness and meditation.

What’s your best career advice?

No matter what a manager asks you to do, whether it falls within the scope of your work or job description, do it – you never know where it could lead.
